About the Teacher

NAME: Mrs. Widhalm

SCHOOL: Marian Central Catholic High School

CLASS: English IA, English IH, English II, Academic Assistance

EMAIL: lwidhalm@marian.com

I received my undergraduate degree from Marquette University, majoring in
English. I went on to receive my Masters of Education in Secondary
Education/English from Vanderbilt University. My teaching
career began in Deerfield, IL, where I taught for seven years. I left my
teaching job to stay home with my children while they were young, and I
started my own tutoring business to keep active in the world of
education. I also taught composition courses at McHenry County College.

This is my second year at Marian, and I will be teaching freshmen and
sophomore English classes as well as working in the Academic Assistance
Program. I also work with the Marian Mentors program and run The Muse,
Marian's student literary magazine. I'm looking forward to an exciting year
ahead, and please do not hesitate to email me at any time with any concerns or
questions.

I am married and have two young children who keep me quite busy and
entertained. Running is one of my favorite activities, but I also enjoy
reading, especially with my children, and I love to bake!
