Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
Homework is given out at the beginning of the week in the form of "homework packets." Students are able to work at their own pace throughout the week. This teaches time management and valuable review. Packets are due at the end of the week. With the exception of test nights and long-term assignments I do not assign weekend homework.Back to Top
What is the T.R.O.J.A.N.S. Folder?
This is a folder provided for the students to transport any unfinished work to and from school. The pockets are labeled "HOME" and "SCHOOL". Papers in the home pocket need to stay at home. Papers in the school pocket need to be finished or signed and returned.Back to Top
Student's papers and tests for the week are returned on Friday attached to our classroom newsletter. The school menu is attached also. The bottom portion requires a parent signature, it will show behavior and work progress for the week. If this is not returned it is counted as a late paper. This is my way of communicating with parents on a weekly basis.Back to Top
What are the Challenges and The Above and Beyond Club?
There are many challenges and opportunities to go above and beyond in our classroom. There are challenge questions in the categories of math, geography, history, science, and state detective questions. They provide the students with research skill practice. I hope these motivate students to learn more. Recommend they try these.Back to Top
I will provide study guides before major tests. A parent signature gives the student extra credit. This is the only form of extra credit offered. Tests count for 40% of the student's grade. If a D or F is received, students can correct it in RED pen, get a parent signature, and earn some points.Back to Top
Students need to bring a HEALTHY snack each day. Good choices are fruit, vegetables, crackers, etc. I would like students to have a water bottle (with a lid) each day. Brain research shows that students need to be hydrated to learn well.Back to Top
