Today's ActivitiesMonday November 30, 2009 Today we will look at the Judicial Branch, focusing on the Supreme Court. The students will be given two sheets. The first is called “The Basics—Landmark Supreme Court Cases Involving Students”. The second is a question sheet tied to these brief descriptions of the court cases. Students will have to identify four cases they would like to respond to. This will be discussed and collected tomorrow. If you would like, you can hear the cases on the Supreme Court website, http://www.oyez.org/cases Friday, November 20, 2009 We were on a shortened schedule today due to Explore testing. In class, we took a look at the Electoral College Process. This rather complicated procedure is what we use to elect the President of the United States. Students were given the "Electoral College math" sheet. Students are to work through the sheet over the weekend and come to class with the sheet completed on Monday. We will then look over the sheet and address any questions the students might have. The sheet can be found at the "Notes and Handouts" page. |
