Welcome to 6th Grade Music!

 

There are a lot of fun and exciting things that we are going to accomplish this year. Sixth graders will learn how to examine a variety of instruments from around the world by image, sound, and factual information. As well as becoming culturally diverse by learning about dances from different eras and locations around the world. To conclude our quarter, your student will learn the basic theory functions that will inable them to read, write, and notate music.

 

Music Supplies: *Please have the following supplies for the music classroom.*

  • Pencil / Erasable Pen - No permanent pens are aloud.
  • Highlighter
  • Paper
  • Folder
  • Classroom Regulations

NHM concert choir auditions will be held on Sept. 1, 2009 and Sept. 2, 2009 A great big "Good Luck" to those of you that will be auditioning, I look forward to hearing you sing.

 

Fundraiser Our first fundraiser letter will be coming home shortly.

 

NHM Concert Choir Upcoming Events:

 

  • Attending the Middle school/High School Exchange with school District 218.
  • Hosting the combined Winter Concert with the NHM Concert Band.
  • Performing at the Black History Month Program.
  • Hosting the combined Spring Concert with NHM Concert Band & Jazz Band.
  • Our annual field trip to Shephard's high school and luncheon at Old Country Buffet.
  • Performance at Graduation!
