Chapter 9 QUIZ Friday 1/15

Mrs. Bingham's Assignment & Grading Philosophy:
I believe that homework should be used to develop, practice and strengthen
skills and content knowledge. I also believe that a students' grades should
be a direct reflection of their level of mastery of the learning goals that
have been established and made known. Therefore, I do not accept or assign
extra credit work. I do, however, allow students to improve upon their earned
grades by giving them the opportunity to re-do work to prove to me that they
really do understand the concepts and are competent in the skills they are
expected to learn. I believe that a student's work should be graded solely on
it's quality based upon a published rubric and that a grade on an assignment
should not be skewed by other measurements. I believe that these measures
ensure that a student's grade correlates to their overall performance based on
the standards as closely as possible.

                        Mrs. Bingham's Assignment Policy:
1. All assignments are expected to be turned in at the beginning of class on
the date they are due.
2. A separate grade will be given for timeliness of work completion.
3. Any assignments not turned in by the end of the quarter will receive the
grade of 50%.
4. Students are responsible for making up missed work due to absences.
5. Students are responsible for making up missed tests and quizzes due to
absences.
6. Students are encouraged to re-do work if they feel they have gained better
understanding.
