Student Council

The purposes of this organization shall be to represent the students of PLAID Academy; to be a listening body for concerns and iseas; to generate ideas to make the school better; to learn by doing how representative government works. Membership: Teachers, sponsors or parents can at the request of student council be known as advisory members (advisors but not voting members). Members must: (a) Be a PLAID student in 5th - 8th grade; (b) Have a C average (c) Be a respect student (d) Have permission from their parent(s) and teachers (e) Must attend meetings to represent the students There are no membership dues or fees for this organization. Meetings: To be held weekly on Wednesday from 8:30-9:00am. Special meeting may be called as needed. Activities: Plan social events. Assist in the production of the yearbook and school newspaper. Help keep the PLAID grounds clean and attractive. Promote safety in school. Organize and promote any "drives" worked on at school for the betterment of the community. Carry information to other non student council groups (classrooms, teachers and parents).
