What is the fine for an overdue book?
The Park View School Library does not charge a fine for overdue books
however, there is an assessment for books that are lost or damaged.
How many books may a student check out of the library?
Students in kindergarten may take out one book for one week. The
check out process in kindergarten occurs sometimes after the first quarter
of the school year. Students in first through third grade may check out 2
library books for one week. Fourth through eighth grade students are
allowed 3 books for two weeks. AR books do not count toward these limits,
they are taken in addition to regular library books.
Is the library open before or after school for student use?
For students who would like to study, read, or check out books the
library generally opens at 7:45 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. Because of
meetings or other possible conflicts,it is advisable that students
check with library staff to be sure it will be open after school.
What happens if my child loses his library book?
A library book that is lost needs to be replaced. The replacement
cost is listed on the overdue notice or you can call the library for
the price. If the book is found within a reasonable amount of time,
the money will be refunded. Because we order special library bindings
and processing materials for the book, it is not feasible to go buy
the book and bring it in as a replacement.
When can my child go to the library?
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade have scheduled library classes
once a week. Sixth through eighth grade teachers sign up to bring their
classes in on an as needed basis. With permission from the classroom
teacher, an individual child may go to the library any time it is open.
