Voting has taken place this year for both the Monarch Award and the Rebecca 
Caudill Young Readers Book Award.  While we are waiting for the state's 
results here is how Park View voted:

The Monarch Award
2006 Nominees

The Monarch Award is given annually to an author and/or illustrator of a 
book voted as their favorite by participating K-3 children in Illinois.  Any 
K-3rd grade student who reads a minimum of 5 of the following twenty books 
is eligible to vote for their favorite book. Voting takes place in 
February.

The Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award 
2007 Nominees

The Rebecca Caudill Award is awarded to the author whose book receives the 
most votes from 4th-8th grade students.  In order to be elegible to vote 
students must read a minimum of 3 books from the following list of 20.  
Voting takes place in February.
