I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Concordia
University in River Forest and my Master's Degree in Curriculum
and Instruction from National Louis University in Wheeling.
This is my twelfth year teaching first grade at Park View. Before coming to
Park View, I had taught at Longfellow School in Buffalo Grove. I taught a
year of fourth grade, a year of fifth grade, six years of first grade and
one year of a kindergarten/first grade multi-age program.
I have three grown sons. My oldest son is married and has twin six-year
old girls (yes, first grade!) and a four year old boy. So, I am a grandmother!
I love to read, walk, garden, and travel.
My goal for the first graders is that each child will love school and have a
real desire for learning. I want each child to be a creative thinker and
writer, a fluent and thoughtful reader, and a strategic problem solver. It is
my hope that each child will leave first grade feeling good about themselves.
