Introduction

Environmental issues such as global warming and pollution are
becoming more and more important to American citizens. In celebration
of Earth Day, April 22, 2008, PBL Junior High will be hosting a
Environmental rally titled "Change Today, for Tomorrow". During this open
house 8th grade students will make presentations which try to persuade
guests to become more environmentally friendly or aware.

Task

In order to persuade the guests at PBL's Environmental Change Open
House you will team up with a partner to create a persuasive PowerPoint
presentation. The purpose of your presentation must be to get attendants to
change something about the way they live to help the environment.

Process
First your group must decide on how they want people to change to help the environment. In other words what does your group think would be the most useful and important change the average Illinois citizen could make to improve the environment? You may want to visit the Environmental Protection Agencies homepage for a “Quick Finder” of important environmental issues.

Once you have selected a method of change you need to figure out how you will persuade people to change. How will you make them want to help the environment? Remember you are being graded on how well you persuade the audience.

You will want to start your PowerPoint with an attention-getting slide (just like you would start off a persuasive essay). You will also need at least nine slides of support (remember support is examples or evidence that you found while researching your topic on the internet). The presentation should end with a persuasive conclusion and recommendation for change! Your final slide must be a bibliography of all the resources you utilized.
