Spanish Department
Guidelines for Grading
Your tests, quizzes, and compositions will be graded on a point system, with the number of points earned out of the total number of points recorded in the gradebook.
To calculate your average, add all the top numbers, and then add all the bottom numbers. The resulting fraction, converted to a percentage, will be your basic grade.
In addition to tests, quizzes, compositions, reports, etc., you will receive a grade in each of the two following categories:
Accountability
Attendance
Homework
Missing required materials
Lack of cooperation in group
work
Obvious lack of preparation
General conversational activities
Positive contribution to classroom
community and climate
Class discussion and question
and answer situations
Asking questions in Spanish
Making requests in Spanish
Speaking Spanish outside of
class
The grades for these two categories are added at the end of each quarter.
Each student is expected to abide by the Honor Code of Regina Dominican High School. Cheating, including plagiarism, on any oral or written assignment, test, quiz, graded classwork or homework will result in a failing grade with no possibility of making it up. The honor code, as well as consequences for academic dishonesty, is detailed in the Student Handbook.
