Course Description:
DESIGN I
Students interested in design and copywriting for the yearbook
elect this course, designed specifically for the production of
the Regina Dominican publication. The design staff creates
pages using desktop publishing, gaining experience with Page-
Maker and the publisher's web-based program. In addition,
designers conduct interviews, research, write copy and work
with photographers on page production, theme selection, and
cover design. This course does not satisfy the English
requirements for graduation; however, students earn an addi-
tional credit in English.
PHOTOGRAPHY I
Students interested in photography for the yearbook elect
this course, designed specifically for the production of
the Regina Dominican publication. Photographers schedule
photo sessions, take digital pictures,room, and maintain a print portfolio and
negative file. In additon, photographers gain experience
with digital photography and cameras; they compose, scan and
print digital images, and utilize PhotoShop. Photographers
maintain digital portfolios and collaborate with designers on
page production, theme selection, and cover design. This
course does not satisfy the English requirements for grad-
uation; however, students earn an additional credit in
English.
