Tech Theatre I and II are one semester courses. Students explore principles
of backstage production in the following areas: lighting design, set-up and
operation; sound reinforcement techniques, microphone placement procedures,
recording and operation; set design, building, and construction techniques.
Students learn the proper and safe operation of all stage-related equipment.
Tech Theatre students assume leadership positions, manage in-school
Liturgies and assemblies, Fall Musical, Spring Donor Appreciation Show and
Spring Play. This is an intense, hands-on course in which students work with
power tools'and electronic equipment. Participants must be extremely
reliable and trustworthy. Those enrolling in this course must be able to
adjust their schedules to meet production needs throughout the term. Some of
the homework for this class entails after-school and Saturday building
sessions. This course does not satisfy the Fine Arts Requirement.
