Course Description:
In this course, students study selected literary
genres including the novel, short story, epic poem,
Greek mythology, and Shakespearean drama. Students
develop critical thinking and analysis skills while
examining literary elements, historical influences,
and common themes. Through multi-paragraph essays,
students analyze character, theme, and conflict while
developing composition skills. Students use on-line
research resources and deliver oral presentations.
Teachers emphasize collaborative learning through
classroom discussions, group projects, and dramatiza-
tion.
