Hints for Parents

Please create back-up child care arrangments for when and if your child
becomes ill. They should not be at school if they are sick. A fever alone
does not indicate illness. Please help me keep all my students (as well as
myself) as healthy as possible.

~~Give your children age-appropriate responsibility.
~~Hold them accountable for their actions and words giving consequences when
necessary.
~~Challenge their thinking and ask them questions.
~~Turn off the TV and encourage their creativity.
~~Keep your promises. Your children will learn from you!
~~Expect great things from your children. They will rise to your
expectations.
~~Listen to your children. Don't finish their sentences. Give them the time
to communicate with you.
~~Have fun with your children! Time goes by so quickly. One day you'll turn
around and they will be moving away from home. Cherish this time with them.
~~Help your children get to bed on time. Research shows well-rested students
do better in school.
~~Have your children get up early enough to avoid rushing.
~~Get your children to school on time!
~~Provide a healthy breakfast, not one high in sugar. Research shows students
always do better in school if they eat breakfast.
~~It is critical for parents and/or guardians to require their children to do
their homework each night. Work with them and help them but don't DO their
work for them.
~~It is also important for parents and/or guardians to look inside their
child's bookbags each day after school.
