Committee Positions

Charter Organization Representative;

* Is a member of the Charter Organization, Sts. Peter and Paul,

* Responsible for Securing a Troop Committee Chair and encourages training,

* Maintains a close liaison with the troop committee chair,

* Helps recruit other adult leaders,

* Serves as a liaison between the troop and the Charter Organization,

* Has final Troop approval on all adult applications

* Assist with unit renewing the charter each year,

* Encourages service to the charter organization,

* Is an active and involved member of the district committee.

Troop Committee Chair;

* Organize the committee to see that all functions are delegated, coordinated and completed;

* Maintain a close relationship with the Charter Organization representative and Scoutmaster;

*  See that troop leaders and committee members have training opportunities;

*  Work closely with the Scoutmaster in preparing troop committee agendas;

*  Call, preside over and promote attendance at monthly troop committee meetings and any special committee meetings that may be called;

* Arrange for charter review and renewing the charter annually.

Secretary;

* Keep minutes of meetings and send out committee Meeting notices;

* Conduct the troop resource survey;

Treasurer;

* Handle all troop funds. Pay bills on recommendation of the Scoutmaster and the authorization of the committee;

* Maintain checking and savings account

* Supervise money-earning projects, including obtaining proper authorizations;

* Maintains the Troops personal Scout accounts

* Report to the Troop committee at each meeting

* Lead in the preparation of the annual budget

Fund-Raising Chair;

* Organize fund-raisers to raise money for the troop and participating scouts;

* Report to the committee before, during and after fund-raisers.

Registration Coordinator;

*  Recruit new members at registration drives;

* Conduct a chartering meeting with the Chairman, Scoutmaster and Advancement Chair;

* Fill out the charter renewal;

* Refer all new registration to the Scoutmaster for placement in a patrol;

* Maintain an active troop registration listing of scouts.

Troop Activities Coordinator;

* Help in securing permission to use camping sites

* Serve as transportation coordinator

* Encourage monthly outdoor activities and special activities

* Promote the National Camping Award

* Promote through family meetings scout attendance at troop campouts to reach the goal of and outing per month.

* Perform Registration for Troop campouts

* Coordinates transportation to all functions attended by the Troop.

Advancement Chair;

* Encourage Scouts to advance in rank;

* Arrange and conduct Monthly troop boards of review;

* Conduct frequent Courts of Honor;

* Develop and Maintain a merit badge counselor list

* Make a prompt report on the correct form to the council service center when a troop board of review is held. Secure badges and certificates;

* Consistently maintains all Scout advancement records in a timely manner

* Work with the troop librarian to build and maintain a troop library of merit badge pamphlets.

Newsletter;

* Collect and formulate a newsletter in conjunction with the troop Scribe;

* Distribute newsletter bimonthly at troop meetings;

* In conjunction with the troop historian, take pictures at all scout functions, Troop meetings, family events, Courts of Honor, etc. Have two pictures printed, one set is for the Troop album while any extras to be distributed to scouts;

Publicity;

* Send pictures and advancement information to the Regional Newspapers;

* Clippings from news publications are to be included in the Troop albums.

Long Term Camp Coordinator;

Organizes the Troop's annual summer camp to include;

* Attending District Meetings for Summer Camp

* Setting a budget and Fees for Summer Camp

* Securing a troop site for summer camp

* Publicizing and recruiting scouts to attend Summer Camp

* Recruiting adult leadership for summer camp

* Securing all necessary Paperwork, including medical information as necessary

* Organizing all logistics, such as drivers, equipment, etc.

* Arranging scouts daily schedules at camp to help the scout earn their merit badges

* Handle all necessary follow-up

* Coordinate with the Scoutmaster and Troop Committee on all procedures and policies.

High Adventure Coordinator

* Assist in the registration and logistics for troop high adventure treks

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Service Hours Coordinator

* Record approved service hour time earned by scouts and present this information to the Advancement Chair.

Life to Eagle Coordinator

*Assist Life Scouts in their journey to Eagle Scout, Assist in the Eagle Scout Court of Honor.

Persons to fill these positions will be selected by the Chairman and approved by the Chartered Organizational Representative. There shall be no limit to the number of terms for any of these positions.

 

Committee Meetings. The Officers shall meet regularly to discuss Troop Business. Meetings shall be scheduled by the Troop Committee Chairman who will provide a written agenda at least 10 days in advance. The meetings shall be open to parents, and registered members of Troop 657
