What are PACK slips?

PACK slips are a reinforcement for good behavior. It is a school
wide incentive program. The students will fill out a PACK slip
when they are caught being good and being the best student they
can be. They will receive a sticker right away and then
their name goes into a chance for a weekly drawing. Praise your
child if they come home with a PACK sticker on. It means they
were caught being good at school. They really get excited about
this.

Will they have homework each day?

I feel that homework teaches the children life skills of
organization and responsibility. They will have something to do
each night. It should not take them longer than 20 minutes to
complete. Also remember to practice math facts, and spelling
words each night.

Do they need to keep gym shoes at school?

They have gym class every day. Some of the girls may want to
leave an extra pair of shoes in their locker if they often wear
dress shoes or boots.

Can I get their work if they are sick?

Parents are welcome to pick up any work that your child may miss
if they are absent. Please do not come to our classroom before
1:45 pm. This will keep instruction time at a maximum and
distractions at a minimum. You can also email me or leave a
voicemail if there is a friend or relative (in the school) that I
could send it home with.

What should I do if my child brings home a Thinking Form?

Please sign the paper and return it to school. This will allow
both of us to keep constant track of how
your student is behaving in school.

Should I initial my child's planner/agenda each night?

Please check and initial your child's planner each night. This
will be an easy way for us to communicate.
I will write a quick note in the planner if your child has a
Thinking Form or if there is something that
you need to know about.
