My name is Julie Powell, and I teach seventh grade Math and Pre-Algebra. I
earned my bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education from Northern Illinois
University in December, 2009. I always enjoyed math and knew that I wanted to
pursue a career in the field. However, it was not until I became a mother
that I decided I wanted to teach. I am married with one daughter who is nine
years old and in fourth grade this year. I completed my student teaching
here at Spring Wood Middle School in eighth grade, and this will be my third
year here teaching seventh grade.
