Applied Language Arts:(6th Grade)
Applied Language Arts (ALA) is a new class this year! I am excited to explore the world of communication with my 6th grade students as we directly focus on the skills of listening and speaking in formal and informal situations. Why do people communicate? What elements of communication make communication more effective? What role does communication play in culture? Finding the answers to these questions and gaining new skills in communication are what ALA is all about. Applied Science:(7th & 8th Grade)
I hope to be able to provide an environment where learning becomes practical, valuable, and enjoyable. Technology surrounds our society. We need to be aware of how we can benefit ourselves and help others with it. But, more important than even the technologies I know my students will get excited about, I hope that students experience growth in the area of cooperation and courtesy when it comes to accomplishing tasks with others; this skill will transcend any field of work and will never become obsolete.
