How can I contact the teacher?

There are several ways to contact me. One way is through a 
written note sent
with your student. Another is to call the school office and leave 
a message
for me to return your call. Also, you can contact me through my 
email address.

Will my child be learning to read in kindergarten?

The answer is "yes". The children will be learning 
reading skills and
practicing them but they will need to continue practicing every 
night with
their "words".  I tell them all the time that practice 
makes perfect!

What day is PE and does my child wear his/her gym uniform all day?

Kindergarten has P.E. on Tuesdays at 9:00am and yes they wear 
their gym
uniform all day. Please make sure that they are dressed for the 
weather as
they do go out for gym on some occasions. They will need 
sweatpants and a
sweatshirt.

What is this writing stuff?

New research indicates that kindergarten students need to write 
in order to have a well rounded literacy experience. The 
suggested time for writing per day is 30-45 minutes. I think that 
is a bit much so I have reserved Monday, Wednesday, Friday as 
literacy days. You will notice that on the class schedule.
