Here is some information about me you might find interesting: * I am married with two adult children. * I have been teaching since 1972. * I have been teaching at St. Agnes since 1979. * I received my B.A. in English in 1972 from St. Francis University in Joliet, Illinois. * I received my M.A. in Education in 2001 from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. My teammate during my studies was Mrs. Cannata. * I hold an Illinois teaching certificate for grades 6-12. * I am the youngest teacher the 8th grade students have. * I sang the national anthem at a recent Milwaukee Brewers' game. * I am a rabid Chicago Bears' fan. * I am a grandmother - I know that's hard to believe. We have 2 beautiful grandchildren, Emily and Parker. * I recently met my second cousin from Split, Croatia, for the first time. Milica Obradovic teaches language arts to 11 and 12 year olds in Croatia. How about that for a coincidence? * I don't have a dog. * I sang the national anthem at the Lyric Opera House. * I recently had the privilege of attending William Shakespeare's birthday party. Remember, I am the YOUNGEST teacher the 8th graders have!
Mission Label:
Mission
As the language arts teacher, I will develop students' communication skills through challenging activities that relate to real life. I encourage students to actively participate in their own success through a variety of assessments. I will maintain a classroom atmosphere of respect, justice, and humor. The CLASS OF 2010 wrote its mission statement and recites it everyday in order to be ever mindful of their goals as the leaders of St. Agnes Catholic School. Their mission statement is as follows: The St. Agnes Catholic School graduating class of 2010 will be responsible leaders by setting a good example for younger students; follow Christ by praying, serving, and giving to others; and be respectful by giving care to others, their property, and their feelings.
