Saint Catherine of Alexandria Athletic Association
Programs offered by the St. Catherine of Alexandria Athletic Association exist for the sole purpose of allowing students the opportunity to participate in organized team sports in a supportive, orderly and Christian environment. Our sports programs promote the following values:
- Mutual respect for teammates and opponents;
- Development of the child's self esteem, understanding of the sport and athletic skill; and
- Demonstration of Christian conduct at all times.
Parents play a critical role in contributing to a successful sporting experience for their child, as well as others on the team. Parents' presence should be supportive to their child, their team and their coach. The conduct of players and spectators alike should reflect Christian values at all times.
Teams that do not have evaluations are instructional and recreational – all players should see equal playing time, though there may be fluctuations within a single game, based upon substitution rules and the flow of play. “A” level teams (and boys football) are considered more competitive and all players may not see equal playing time. Parents are encouraged to discuss the differences between "A" and "B" teams with their children, so that you and your child can choose a level of play that is more suitable to you’re his/her interest in the sport.
Parents are reminded that all of our coaches are volunteers, who share your interest in promoting a positive sporting experience. If a problem arises, please try to resolve it privately (away from children) with your child’s coach first.
It is the goal of the Athletic Association to ensure that all of our children have a safe, positive and fun experience while participating in athletic programs. With your help, we know that we can continue to meet this goal. Thank you.
