About The Teacher

Hello everyone and welcome to St. Celestine School's technology webpage.
This page was set up to provide links to websites where students can gather
information for research topics; online activities and game that will help
students gain knowledge and have fun at the same time; picture galleries that
highlight Tech Lab activities as well as students' artwork done in Art Class.

There is also a page with Parent Resources that has links to Internet
safety sites along with other sites that may be of interest.

A Word about Plug-ins
You may be asked to download Shockwave, Flash and/or Java in order for
programs to run properly - these are called plug-ins. All three are
free plug-ins that can be downloaded.

Keeping your Computer Healthy
It is important to keep your computer healthy. Be sure that you update your
system regularly. You should also make sure you have a good anti-virus
program like Norton or McAfee installed on your system along with spyware.
These programs should be set up to scan your system regularly (or you can
scan manually). Just as updates are needed in Windows, you will also have to
update your virus protection and spyware to keep them current.

FREE Stuff
Another option is to download a free antivirus program. One program,
Microsoft Essentials, is downloadable from www.microsoft.com; another
is from AVG. The download for this is www.free.avg.com.

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may offer pop-up blockers, spam
blockers, and parental controls. It is a good idea to activate these
features if you have them.

Computers are a wonderful tool; however, it is important that we keep our
equipment, and more importantly, our children safe.

Mission For The Class

To teach students to be responsible users
of the technology tools available to them.
