The purpose of the St. Edmund Parish School Advisory Board is the development of policy to set the general direction of the school. All policies must be in accordance with those established by the Archdiocesan Office of Catholic Education. The board strives to improve educational opportunity, to provide and maintain facilities for education and to improve school-community relationships. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings.

Visitors Attending Advisory Board Meetings

  • Meetings, other than those held in closed session, are open to the public. In order to conduct business, it is sometimes necessary for a closed session to be called.
  • Visitors attending board meetings are asked to sign in and to advise the chair of whether or not they wish to speak to the board.
  • Time is set aside on the agenda for visitors to speak. Each individual visitor may speak for 2-3 minutes on matters that concern the board.
  • Visitors observe the board. They do not engage in discussion nor do they make comments or offer their opinions while agenda items are discussed.
  • There is no discussion or debate between the visitors and the members.
  • It is understood that the issues raised will not be handled at the meeting. If appropriate to the parameters of the board's responsibilities, the issue(s) raised by the visitor may be addressed at a future time.
  • Personnel issues and individual family or student's needs are not discussed.
  • Questions of a general nature may be referred to the pastor or principal.
