What's Happening in Room 256 during the month of NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER??? PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE WORLD OF SECOND GRADE!!!   

 

We  have penpals from New York. We began the exchange of letters.  We received wonderful letters with pictures and special Halloween cards back!  We were so excited that we wrote right back!  We are taking part in a postcard exchange with schools all across the USA. Our first postcards were from Montana and Tennessee. We have mailed our postcards to everyone in the exchange.  We are writing tongue twisters for the letter S and sending them to twenty five schools.  They are sending us tongue twisters too.  We will be making an ABC Book of Tongue Twisters. We shared those that we've already received. We will also be taking part in a Flat Gingerbread Person exchange.  Our Gingerbread People will tell others about Illinois. This will be a good project for December. 
Reconciliation is on Monday, November 30th.  We are completing our Reconciliation Book the week of November 16th.  We have already completed our WELCOME HOME Reconciliation Book about the Oak St. Flyers. 

We are learning many new songs for the annual First and Second Grade Advent Musical which will be at one o'clock on the afternoon of December 11th. All Second Graders will have a reading part.  First Graders will be our actors and everyone will be SINGING!!!

Invite Grandparents and or other special family members to our performance.  It's the perfect way to celebrate the Advent Season and prepare for the birth of Baby Jesus.
