Welcome to our Pre-K progam! This is the ninth year that I will be
teaching the Pre-K program at St. Mary's. I am a graduate of Clarke
College, and of National Louis University. I received a Bachelor of Arts
degree in English and secondary education from Clarke College. I began
teaching Reading, Social Studies, and Language Arts. Later I completed the
required coursework for an elementary teaching certificate. Before becoming
a Pre-K teacher at St. Mary's I taught Kindergarten here for twelve years.
During that time I completed a Master in Education degree from National Louis
University. My focus was Curriculum and Instruction/Early Childhood.
Our mission is to help the four year old child to develop healthy social and
emotional behaviors, to make new friendships, to learn and to grow from
classroom experiences, and to acquire the preliminary academic skills that
he/she will need to be successful in Kindergarten.
