Math Homework Policy
Homework is assigned daily. Math homework is to be completed in pencil, in handwriting that is legible and large enough to read. A student will earn full credit (3 points) if the assignment meets the following criteria: · is in on time · has all problems completed in the method that was taught in class · is completed in pencil A point is deducted for every day the homework is turned in late. The purpose of homework is to practice independently the concepts learned in class. Failure to do homework will adversely affect a student’s grade. Weekly Work Weekly work is distributed on Monday and is due the last school day of the week. The purpose of weekly work is to review concepts that have been previously taught. Students will be told how many problems must be completed. Any problem correctly done above and beyond the required number will count as “extra credit”. All work must be shown to get full credit. It is strongly advised that students do not wait until the last night to start weekly work. Weekly Quiz A short quiz will be given every Friday covering math fundamentals such as fractions, decimals, percentages, integers, as well as the four mathematical operations. Quizzes will be appropriate to each math group. Please do not hesitate to come in early for extra help in Math, even if it is to simply ask a question about a homework problem.
