FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions
of students and parents.
  1. How do you grade homework?
  2. Do you offer extra credit?
  3. Do you give out many demerits?
  4. "I'm not good at Math. What do you expect from me?"

How do you grade homework?

If you do your homework on time, in pencil, and completely, you
will receive 3 points. One point will be deducted for failing to
meet each of the standards listed above.

Do you offer extra credit?

YES! Each week you will receive a "WEEKLY WORK" page on Monday,
and it will be due at the end of the week. You will know how many
problems you are expected to do correctly, showing all the work
on the back of the page. Any additional problems done correctly
will count as extra credit. These points add up, so you should
really try to do solve all 9 problems every week.

Do you give out many demerits?

No, I do not give out many demerits. If you get an academic
demerit from me, please know that it is either because you are
starting to develop a pattern of not doing your homework. If you
receive a behavioral demerit from me, you should know that you
crossed the line with me, you went too far, you did not know when
to stop OR you treated another student with disrespect.
Inappropriate church behavior will NEVER be tolerated either.

"I'm not good at Math. What do you expect from me?"

Good question! Math is not everybody's passion; I GET that.
However, if you THINK you can't do something, then you WON'T be
able to do it. Please look at the work with an open mind and
always think positively. I won't give you anything you can't do,
trust me! I expect that you ask questions if you don't understand
what we are doing. Please come see me before school and I will
always be happy to work with you. Often, a quick 5-minute review
is all that is needed. PLEASE PRACTICE YOUR BASIC MATH FACTS.
There are links to several online flashcard sites on in the LINKS
section of my webpage.
