School-Wide Theme for 2009 - 2010:
"We Pray for Vocations."
ADVENT IS HERE!
We wait for the Lord!
This is the Season of Advent ~ we are focusing on ways we can improve
ourselves during this time of reflection. We have strips of paper for the
students to fill out with their good deeds and self improvements. They are
placing them in a simple manger that we have set up. This is a great way to
work for Jesus in this season of waiting.
Things you need to know about December:
1. My class will perform our Christmas Play called "The Big, Big Story" on
Thursday, December 10th at 9:30 sharp! You should have received a written
invitation TODAY from your child. PLEASE join us for the short performance!
Grandparents can come, too!
I do beleive that the costumes are all set! I spoke to all of the students
this week and they ALL felt confident that they will have their clothes and
props at school this MONDAY, Dec. 7th, for our first dress rehearsal.
On Tuesday, we will perform for Mrs. Kaplan's class, Grade 4 and on
Wednesday, Miss Jamrosek's class, Grade 2. They are very prepared and so
terrific!
If you have any questions, email me and we'll help you out!
2. The Christmas Program is now set for Tuesday, Dec. 15th at 7:00 p.m. The
children will meet in the Gathering Place this year! Because only the Jr.
High Choir will be participating in the program, we feel we can all fit in
the church. Your child should wear dressy Holiday clothes. My class will
perform on the WILSON side of the altar! Plan to sit on that side of the
church.
3. Thursday December 17th is a dress down day. Wear Christmas colors,
jeans and gym shoes. It is also hot lunch and our class party. Thank you
for returning the Room Mom Christmas Party form so they can get things set
for our fun!
Also, plan on getting the fabric needed for the party art project. I heard
it is a wonderful Christmas decoration that you will love! Your child can
bring the fabric to school whenever it is ready. I will keep them until the
17th. Feel free to attend the party and help with this fun afternoon!
4. Friday December 18th is 11:30 dismissal! (Where did these 4 months go?)
December Book Reports were sent home! Work on good time management with your
child! The homework will be light this month due to many scheduling
interruptions! We're still working on the learning in the classroom!

Mrs. Soper came today to read us a terrific story called "SNOW"! This book
won many writing and illustrating awards! It is beautiful! We enjoyed the
story, and started dreaming about playing in the snow! Now we hope for a big
snowfall! We want heavy snow that we can pack into snowballs and make forts!
AND, the kids want a SNOW DAY! (NOT Mrs. Kallback!)
Thanks for the wonderful book, which Mrs. Soper so graciously gave to our
classroom library! We really enjoyed your visit, Blackhawks Fan!!
AND, thanks to all of you who help to make our school days exciting!
Any questions, please email me!
Blessings,
Mrs. Kallback
