School-Wide Theme for 2009 - 2010:
"We Pray for Vocations."
WELCOME TO MRS. KALLBACK'S THIRD GRADE!
This week is short but busy! We'll did some work with Spelling Lesson 11,
but did not have the spelling menu or have a test. :) We moved on in Math
with addition with 3 addends.
In Reading, our new space story is about one of the first women astronauts.
It's been very interesting!
I read them some Native American legends last week and on Friday had them use
watercolors to paint their favorite illustration. They're so pretty! Due to
my absence, we'll do this writing project next week. We'll use a writing
rubric to start a rough draft about one of these stories and then prepare a
final draft by next Friday. You'll love their hard work!
Thank you for turning in those "Staying on Track" forms. I look forward to
meeting you at our conferences!

Mrs. Swider surprised us today by reading one of her favorite childhood books
called "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang". The class enjoyed the pretty details and
fun story line. Mrs. Swider also read us one of Renee's favorite books, "Sea
Creatures". We were able to listen to her read us clues. Then we had to try
to find the sea animal in the picture it was describing. This made them
really listen carefully! Thank you, Mrs. Swider, for joining us today!
Thanks to all of you who help to make our school days exciting! We had a
wonderful week!
Any questions, please email me!
Blessings,
Mrs. Kallback
