Homework Ideas

As you have seen in our math series, addition, subtraction,
multiplication and now division are very complicated! If their knowledge of
regrouping is weak, they will have a tough time staying with the pace of the
class in the future! While riding in the car, give your child some mental
math questions, using ALL the operations they have learned, to think about
and do. Throw in some quick facts!

We will have tests and quizes often. I will work during classtime to
prepare them for each one! These will not always be listed in their
assignment notebook. However, they will be ready as we have spent class
time preparing and growing in confidence.

When our schedule permits, we will have a timed multiplication test
so we can increase our speed and confidence on the facts from 1 - 9. Your
help reviewing these facts will support your child as they take these tests
until the end of the year. 4th grade will need quick recall of all of the
math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Keep
this in mind as you plan your summer workbook purchases, tutoring sessions,
classes, etc.
