School-Wide Theme for 2008-09:
"We are the Body of Christ"
WELCOME TO MRS. KALLBACK'S THIRD GRADE
where we are growing and learning everyday!
This week, we completed the I.T.B.S. Tests. YIPPEE! These are
very time consuming tests that took up about 1-1/2 - 2 hours, of each day
Monday - Thursday! Alot of focus and attention to each task was required of
your children. They tried their best and worked very hard for me! We're
happy to be done and to get on with our regular routine again!
Next week, we will have the Township of Downers Grove here to
present a 4 day workshop called "No Bullying" to the third grade classes.
This is a very organized and well prepared discussion that will help us all
think about how we treat others. Watch for homework for family discussion.
Our third grade Mass will be on Friday, October 24th at 8:15 a.m.
Please join us if your schedule permits.
Halloween is Friday, October 31st. We will arrive in our school
uniforms for Mass. Afterwards, we will take time to change into our "out of
uniform clothes" (jeans, gym shoes and Halloween shirts or fall colors) for
the rest of our day. Our class will have a party from 1:00 - 2:00,
organized by our room moms, Mrs. Ukrin and Mrs. Murray. It will be fun for
all!

Today Mrs. Quealy and her mother joined us for a wonderful set of
stories! We heard "Piggie Pie", a fun Halloween tale and "Officer Buckle
and Gloria", one of my student's favorites! We also enjoyed delicious
Halloween cooooooooooookies! YUMMY! We love our Fridays! What a great way
to end our week! PARENTS, you are a terrific addition to our class! We all
look forward to your visits each week!
