Technology is a vital part of our curriculum and can be seen all over the
school. Students are busy using the wireless computers and the technology
lab in the LRC to do various assignments integrated with the classroom
curriculum. We have 120 computers in the labs and classrooms with Internet
access.
We continue our subscription to United Streaming this year. This
is the program which enables our teachers and students to use videos and
videoclips to enhance their curriculum. These videos are streaming live from
the Internet and are readily accessible. These make learning interesting
and fun!
Please use my homepage and click on the grade level websites. There are
a lot of educational sites to visit and also a free keyboarding program.
Keyboarding is a great skill to encourage, students definitely need to have
good keyboarding skills in high school for success.
We are very fortunate to have purchsed 6 interactive Airliners made by the
Smart Technologies company. These new inovative products will make learning
easier and more fun! Airliners communicate with the computers via bluetooth
technology. We also purchased 6 LCD projectors so we can see the software
projected on a large screen. Funds raised from the Trivia night were used to
pay for these along with the gift from the Class of 2008.
This year will be the sixth year that we progress with Technology
Professional Development on Fridays. This program has proved to be a very
important part of our Technology focus here at St. Mary's. Our faculty is
so willing to learn and continue to give our students the best in every area
of the curriculum. On Fridays we have an opportunity to work together and
get much accomplished. Everyone wins!
As always, thank you for your continued support and dedication to our
wonderful school. We can't do it without your help!
