                                  A TIME OF LOVE

December 11, 2009

This Sunday we will light the pink candle on our Advent Wreath. It is known
as Gaudete Sunday and it means that we are past the midpoint of our Advent
Season. During Advent we reflect on those things that keep us from preparing
our hearts for the coming of our Lord. This Sunday allows us to be more
hopeful of his arrival which is drawing closer. May your hearts be filled
with joy as we await his birth.

This week was busy with all things surrounding the holiday. Monday I attended
a math workshop all day but they did a fine job with Mrs. Bolek who came to
substitute for us. She had nothing but kind words to say about our class :)
We celebrated Mass on Tuesday this week to fulfill our Holy Day of Obligation
in honor of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. We learned that Mary was
created holy right from birth.

On Wednesday we had practice all afternoon for our upcoming Christmas concert.
Please plan to attend on Tuesday December 15th at 7:00 p.m. Students should
arrive between 6:40-6:50 p.m. wearing their Christmas best and leaving their
coats with you.

Thursday saw our fabulous production of "The Big, Big, Story". Thank you for
coming to our play and helping your students create their costumes. They did
a fantastic job and I am VERY PROUD of them.

Today we practiced our song with Room 301 and the wonderful Dr. Aquaviva. We
are so grateful that Dr. A is willing to drive from Indianapolis to help us
with our Christmas concert. He is a blessing to us.

Our Secret Reader today was Mr. Denk. He read us two wonderful Christmas
books. Appropriately, one of them was titled "Olivia Helps with Christmas".
It was a very cute story of Olivia and her family (who are pigs) at
Christmastime. Then he read Eric Carle's "Dream Snow". We loved this book
because we could push a button at the end and hear music play. Thank you Mr.
Denk for letting us all take a turn!

Please take time to enjoy each other during this very busy time of year!

Mrs. Neumann
