THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! A great big thank you to Mrs. Pruim , Mrs.
Moran, Mrs. Enochs and Mrs. Albian for a fantastic Halloween party on Friday.
We had a terrific time playing games, enjoying treats and listening to a
great story by Chris Van Allsburg called The Widow's Broom. Thank you also to
Mrs. Graika, Mrs. Henry and Mrs. Lyons for helping out at our party and thanks
to all those who sent in supplies for this terrific event!
This past week saw us practicing safety at school. First, on Wednesday we had
an official fire drill where we were timed by the Downers Grove Fire
Department. We had the opportunity to evacuate the building several times and
really have a great system for leaving in an orderly fashion. I am proud of
my class' behavior during these drills. Then on Thursday we practiced bus
safety during our bus evacuation drill. We learned about bus safety and how
to leave the bus in an emergency.
In Social Studies our Community Worker interviews were awesome! The kids did a
terrific job on the research, interviews, props, costumes, etc. I was very
impressed with all the knowledge they shared. Thank you for your help and
support in doing this project. It was a great success!
We also took an English and a Math test this week. The students are working
hard in the subjects and demonstrating great improvement. On Monday we were
in the wireless lab practicing our parts of speech and learning how many words
we can make using only a few letters. We are truly enjoying our time in the
wireless.
The end of our first trimester is quickly approaching. We in Room 302 cannot
believe that it is already November. We will be taking a few more tests
before the 13th in the hopes of raising our grades and shining on our report
cards.
The book reports are fantastic and I can tell the hard work each student put
into their animal report. Today they received their next book report
assignment which will be due on November 20th. Please feel free to contact me
