| Welcome to our First Grade Web Page
I hope you find this helpful throughout the year.
Thank you for comming in to meet with me for parent-teacher conferences. I
enjoyed seeing all of you and appreciate all of your support.
*******Per School Policy, lunches brought in from fast food places such as
McDonalds and Burger King and Portillios are not permitted.*******
****Due to peanut allergies, there will be no peanut products allowed in the
classroom. Please make sure any food you child is bringing into the
classroom is free from nuts and peanut butter. Trader Joes does offer a soy
nut butter which can be an excellent substution.
****Please make sure you look through your child's take home folder every
night. Sometimes they will have notes or homework that needs to be
completed. I have seen some folders that still had papers from a couple of
days ago in them.
**** Starting the first week in January, the students are going to be
changing in the locker rooms before and after gym. Please make sure all of
there clothes (school and gym uniforms) are labeled with their names or
initials. Please check periodically since the names do fade due to washings.
we cannot be reponsible for clothes missplaced due to missing names.
*Due to food allergies, we are now requesting that students bring in NON-
EDIBLE items to school to pass out to the class for birthday celebrations.
(pencils, erasers). You can also have your child donate a book to the
classroom in his or her name.
*We are in need of small, inexpensive prizes for our prize bucket! Please
donate if you can!
*No water bottles are to be brought to school if the temperature is under 80
degrees. Thank you for your cooperation.
Show and Tell- We will be doing SHOW AND TELL in the morning on Monday thru
Thursday. Your child can bring in something ONE time each week.He or She
doesn’t have to participate every week. The Student of the week is
in charge of Show and Tell for that week.
D.E.A.R. - Drop Everything And Read: The entire school participates in this
after lunch. Your child will need several books from home to read during
these 15 minutes after lunch (12:00-12:15). Please make sure they have books
to read during this time. On Friday’s our class has D.E.A.R. with a friend.
The children enjoy this time to share books with their classmates in small
groups of two or three.
We will be doing an estimating jar every week. The person with the closest
guess will take the jar home on Friday to be filled for Monday. The items in
the jar will be passed out on Friday. Please remember no peanut products.
Please e-mail me with any questions or concerns.
