CURRICULUM GUIDE 2008-2009
6th:
SCIENCE
Students will use inquiry to understand life, earth, and physical science.
Inquiry involves the use of scientific method to question, predict,
investigate, analyze, and explain. Students will apply math and language
art skills to correlate with the further development of science skills.
Students will:
use inquiry skills for classroom instruction and labs
investigate the factors that create and affect weather and climate
explore rocks, minerals, and Earths geological processes
describe relationships between organisms & environment, & biomes
& ecosystems
investigate advancements in ecology and environmental science
develop and write a lab report
7th:
SCIENCE
Students will use inquiry to understand life, earth, and physical science.

investigate and classify organisms: microscopic, plates, and animals
identify and determine how cellular life processes are accomplished
investigate the evidence of life on Earth
explore the development of the universe
develop and write a lab report
8th:

identify the characteristics, properties, and interactions of matter
investigate and understand the periodic table
investigate and apply concepts of human biology & their
interactions
explore and apply concepts of genetics and heredity
develop and write a lab report
