1. Each month, the second graders are expected to memorize a school appropriate poem to recite
in class. The Poetry Day for October is Friday, the 26th. By the 12th of October, please
submit a copy of the chosen poem for review. The poem must be at least 7 lines long. Try to
find a poem that is unfamiliar to your child. They may not write their own poems at this time.
The theme for this month is Fall or Halloween.
2. This year the primary grades are moving away from food Birthday treats and are asking that
the Birthday child donate a book to the class library or bring in a new jigsaw puzzle for the
room.
