MONDAY - 1. Spelling Sentences: Second graders will have ten spelling words
for the week. They must choose six words to
use in complete sentences. Circle the
spelling word used. Sentences must be six
or more words long and only one sentence
can begin with "I". The remaining four words
not used must be printed neatly on the same
paper.
TUESDAY - 1. Math worksheet
2. Practice 10 lines: Your child should choose a book at home and
practice reading ten lines aloud. They bring
that book to school and read the ten lines
to the teacher.
WEDNESDAY -1. Language Arts
2. Practice 10 lines: Same as above/different ten lines.
THURSDAY - 1. Math worksheet
2. Pack a stuffed animal and book in backpack for Friday.
FRIDAY - No homework
Second graders should be reading their ten lines aloud at home prior to
reading them in school. The aim for this is to practice being a fluent
reader.
The time sheet that is in their planners is for a parent/guardian to record
homework time. Second graders are not to be writing in the time.
Please encourage your child to take pride in their work and hand in a
neat/clean paper.
