Final Newsletter of 1st Grade!Yikes...I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! I am confident in saying that your children are definitely ready for second grade. They have all grown so much and in so many ways over the course of the year. It has been such an honor to work with them. I am really going to miss them next year!Language Arts: We are completing a final benchmark this week for guided reading. A progress graph will be sent home with their ending guided reading level. This information will be passed on to Mrs. Dunn for next year. Our focus this week will be predicting and bossy r's. The last spelling test will be this Friday. There is only one list for this week. Math:We will be working on chapter 16 the next two weeks. We will continue with timed tests on Tuesdays and Fridays thru next week. The final timed test will be on Thursday, May 31st. for those students that are finished with timed tests, they will be working on writing their numbers up to 1000! It is called the 1000's club. Religion: We will continue with chapters 18 and 19. The children will be learning about the birthday of the Church, Pentecost. We will also continue to study Family Life thru next week.Social Science: We will be finishing up our unit on Jobs this week.
