Accelerated Reader Guideline for Failed Test
Students will be given an Accelerated Reader “mulligan” or retake once per semester. A student may retake a test if they scored below a 60% and received no points. The following guidelines will apply:
1. The book must be in the student's level or approved by the teacher in advance.
2. The retake test must be taken no fewer than 3 calendar days and no more than 10 calendar days after the first test. This gives the student time to review the book. After 10 calendar days the test may not be retaken.
3. The student is unable to see which answers were right or wrong on the first test. The questions will be in a different order on the retake test.
4. Students taking advantage of a “mulligan” will not be eligible for extra credit at the end of the quarter for surpassing their goals. Students who do not use a “mulligan’ can get extra credit up to 110% for surpassing their goals.
