Mr. Collins' Super Christmas Challenges
1. Write a one-paragraph journal of how you demonstrated the Christmas spirit through helping others (family, poor people). Use at least four examples.
2. Solve the three math story questions at the end using the information below about Mr. Collins' enormous family:
A. On Thursday my family invited all of my relatives from my dad's side of the family. He has six brothers and three sisters. Sadly one of his sisters passed away years ago. All of the rest are married. My dad also has a total of 14 nieces and nephews. He also has two parents. Sadly his father passed away years ago as well. The only people from my dad's side of the family who did not come are his sister's husband and two of their children because they live out in Boston.
B. On Friday my family invited all of my relatives from my mom's side of the family. She has two sisters and five brothers. All of them are married except for one of her sisters and one of her brothers. She has a total of 14 nieces and nephews. Two of those nephews have spouses, and one of them has a daughter. Mr. Collins' mother two has parents. Sadly her father, who was a highly decorated World War II soldier, passed away almost 25 years ago. A total of nine family members from my mom's side did not come mainly because they live in California.
C. In my immediate family, I have two brothers and a sister. All of my brothers and sisters are married. I also have five nieces and nephews. Two of those nephews are twins. I also have two parents. My sister and her husband only came on over on Friday. Everyone else came over on both Thursday and Friday.
