December 12, 2011 -
- Art Crew will meet with Ms. Mark after school Thursday at 2:45 PM. Failure to do so will result in a 0 for your performance grade. Please make sure you make it.
- Students, please check your grades regularly. If you do not have access to the internet, you can always make an appointment with me so that we can both review your grade.
- For those out there needing help, please come and get help. I have all three prep periods free and I am available after school. Some of you need to retake the performance assessment. You can only retake the performance assessment after you have met with me twice. After Friday, there will not be anymore retake opportunities. Whatever you have as a grade will stay and determine the highest percentage possible. Three days are remaining. You have up to 4:00 PM on Friday to retake the performance assessment.
- Lastly, I will start calling home for students who have refused to get help. Again, if you know you are having difficulty, please make an appointment with me so that we help improve your playing. I'm here to help you. Take advantage of it.

December 09, 2011 - Stay tuned for the final decision regarding the upcoming performance.
Friday, December 16, 2011 - Will be a retest date. The only catch to this retest is that you have to get help from me twice. This can take place during one of my prep periods/ your lunch, or after noon.
Simply Said: No Help = No Retest

Factors that may affect concert band set-up:
1. Instrument timbres - soft instruments go in front while louder instruments go in back.
2. Composer's need - If there is a piece that showcases a certain instrument like a concerto, the soloist is moved toward the front of the concert.
3. Environment - If in an auditorium or gymnasium and the trumpets' sounds are bouncing every way, the trumpets may want to position themselves away from the wall.
4. Conductor's Need - After finding out that the alto saxophones are too isolated on the left side of the ensemble, the conductor may move the alto saxophones to the middle to get a better a blend.
