Homework

All classes:  Make sure that you bring your 3-ring binder, writing utensils, 
metric ruler, and text to class!  DO NOT FORGET YOUR COLORED PENCILS AND A 
PENCIL SHARPENER!!  ALSO, A HOLE-PUNCHER WOULD COME IN HANDY!
YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN THERE WILL BE A SUPPLIES CHECK!!!!!!!!!!!  


Welcome to the 2008 - 2009 School Year!!
The following is the schedule for the week of 12/1/2008.  For homework, you 
should review the day's notes and learn the week's vocabulary.  The emphasis 
for the work this week is to learn about homeostasis and the role it has in 
cells and the human body.  


Monday-  Visual about how living or once living things are 
organized is due today.  We begin Unit 2 where the main theme is homeostasis.
In class, we will read "A Pause that Refreshes?" on page 151.

Tuesday - Students learn about isotonic, hypertonic and hypotonic solutions.
Students then observe elodea cells and the process of osmosis.

Wednesday-  Students begin the Eggs-periment, pages 151-155.

Thursday--Collect data on the Eggs-periment.  Work on completing the SWH.

Friday--Finish SWH and complete reading "Compartments" on page 218.
    QUIZ ON THE WORDS HOMEOSTASIS,OSMOSIS, ISOTONIC, HYPERTONIC, HYPOTONIC, 
SOLUTE, SOLVENT, AND SOLUTION.
