COACH'S CORNER

Chicago City Championship

On a dark, cold, wet October morning the team was up long before dawn to catch their bus.

Despite the incredible hour and horrible conditions they all showed up excited and ready to run.
Nothing was going to dampen their spirits.

Not even the mean hail storm that pelted them in the middle of the meet.

The girls' Cross Country team, once again, proved that, regardless of conditions, they are willing to step up and get the job done.   It was the kind of day that everyone can look back on with great pride.
Not one girl hesitated to step to the starting line.  Girls volunteered to stand in for teammates who could not make it to their races.

Teammates carried eachother off the field.

If you ever doubt your school's spirit we invite you to come out any time and watch this tough bunch of girls cross the finished line.

The team capped off a great season at the CPS championship placing well in all four divisions--Freshmen (6th), Sophomore (6th), Varsity (8th), and Junior Varsity (3rd).

It was the kind of season coaches dream about.
