NEW!!!!   Ferris State University – Great Lakes Scholarships:  Ferris State 
is a career focused university located in several cities in Michigan.  This 
scholarship allows eligible out-of-state students to pay in-state tuition 
for up to 15 credit hours per semester.  The current value is between $4700

NEW!!!   Paramount Foundation – Tall Club of Chicago
Candidates for the scholarship meet minimum height requirements of 5’10” for 
females and 6’2” for males.  This is a one time award of $750.  Winners of 
this scholarship are eligible to apply for the Tall Clubs International 
scholarship for its $1,000 Kae Sumner Einfeldt scholarship.   The

New! Tuskegee Airmen National Scholarship Foundation – Each year the 
Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation grants scholarship awards to 
deserving young men and women. Forty (40) awards of $1,500 will be available 
and are not renewable. One $20,000 award will be presented to a scholar who 
can demonstrate a sincere aptitude for and pursuit of a career in aviation, 
aerospace technology or research. Applicants must be students of accredited 
high schools who have graduated or will graduate in the school year 2009-
2010. Additionally, applying students must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. 
Application deadline is February 1, 2010.

NEW!!!   Arthur D. and Florence  Graffam Engineering Technology Scholarship 
Fund – Northern Illinois University:  Candidates must be admitted to NIU’s 
College of Engineering and Engineering Technology for the fall 2010.  This 
is a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship.  Must be a US citizen and a member of 
an under-represented group.  Must posses a minimum GPA of 3.25 and minimum 
composite score of 24 on the ACT


Lincolnland Legends – Lincolnland Legends is a program from Illinois Dollars 
for Scholars designed to engage Illinois students in honoring people who 
inspire and motivate them and provide scholarships to Illinois students. Any
current high school junior or senior may nominate by essay someone for 
special recognition. Nominees must be still living and must have been born 
in, have lived in, or currently live in the student’s Congressional District 
in Illinois. In honor of Abraham Lincoln, the Lincolnland Legends nominees 
should reflect the characteristics that Lincoln demonstrated as one of our 
nation’s greatest leaders. For the application and more information, visit

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Students must be residents 
of the City of Chicago; they must be African-American students attending a 
CPS school (see the list); maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5, be enrolled as a
graduating high school student; is not a relative of a member of Delta Sigma 
Theta; must demonstrate leadership skills; and perform public service in the 
community. Only students applying to a four-year accredited university and 
pursuing work leading to an initial baccalaureate degree or its equivalent 
are eligible. 

Gates Millennium Scholars Program – The GMS program selects one thousand 
students per year as Gates Millennium Scholars. The scholarship supports 
individual student need, and can be renewed for a total of five years of
undergraduate study. The award is also renewable for graduate study in the 
fields of public health, mathematics, science, computer science, 
engineering, education, and library science. Students are eligible to be 
considered for a GMS scholarship if they: are African American, American 
Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American; 
are a citizen,legal permanent resident or national of the United States; 
have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted); will be 
entering a U.S. accredited college/university as a full-time, degree seeking 
freshman in the Fall of 2010; have demonstrated leadership abilities through 
participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities; and 
meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria (for more information visit 
www.fafsa.ed.gov); have completed and submitted all three required forms 
(Nominee Personal Information Form, Nominator Form, and Recommender Form) by 
the deadline. Application deadline is January 11, 2010.

Coming Soon! Scholarship Chicago – Looking for: Thoughtful young people who 
demonstrates commitment atschool through academic and extracurricular 
activities, or as a volunteer, at work, and/or by taking responsibility for 
family matters or younger siblings at home. Must have a GPA of 3.0 and ACT 
of 20+. Scholars from all high schoolsin Chicago eligible to apply. 
Applications will be available January 4, 2010.

IIT Collens Scholars Program – Any CPS students interested in business, 
engineering, math, science, humanities,social sciences, architecture and 
psychology may be eligible. Students must meet IIT’s admission requirements 
andwhose parents (or guardians) have an income of less than $40,000 per 
year. Students must also be U.S. citizens orpermanent residents and complete 
the FAFSA. Students interested in Fall 2010 admission must graduate from a 
CPS high school in June 2010 and enter IIT as a full-time freshman. Visit

LAKE FOREST COLLEGE OFFERS FULL-TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CPS STUDENTS:  Lake 
Forest Cllege is a national liveral arts college located 30 miles  north of 
Chicago.  Full details about the scholarship  are available at

Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan has a number of Academic and 
Diversity awards and scholarships up to $24,000.  Check out their website at

College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental  Sciences (ACES) at the 
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  The College of ACES offers 
majors in animal sciences & pre-veterinary studies, food science, human 
nutrition, economics, business, public policy & law, child development & 
family studies, biological & environmental engineering, genetics, molecular 
biology, plant biotechnology, environmental science, landscape design &

                The requirements for the scholarship are that the student is 
either in the top 10% of their class (90th percentile) or received a 29 or 
higher on their ACT.  Please encourage students who have or will be applying 
to the College of ACES at University of Illinois and fit the criteria to 
apply for the scholarship and complete the date form for the upcoming 
interviews in the Chicago area as soon as possible (both forms are attached 
to this message).   The interviews will be taking place in Downtown Chicago 
at the Illini Center (at Adams & Wacker) on Wednesday, October 14th and in

Eastern Illinois University Presidential Scholars Program:  This scholarship 
covers 8 semesters of tuition including fees.  Students with a 30 ACT and 
3.5 gpa or 28 ACT and 3.75 gpa are invited to apply.  Applications are also 
based on transcript, extracurricular/volunteer activities, work experience, 
an essay, and a recommendation of a high school teacher.  THIS SCHOLARSHIP 
IS AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF IMMIGRATION STATUS.  For more
