Academic Center for over twenty years before becoming Special Education
Department Chairman and Case Manager in January 2009. He has a State of
Illinois Type 9 Teaching Certificate in Social Studies and a Learning
Behavior Specialist (LBS 1) endorsement. In 1987 he graduated summa cum
laude from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Mr.Inga believes all students can learn. He is dedicated to helping all
students reach their full potential.
Mr. Inga believes all students should focus on improving
reading, communication, study, and critical thinking skills. All students
must be educated in the least restrictive environment. Students with IEPs
will have access to the general education curriculum and will be integrated
with their non-disabled peers to the maximum extent appropriate based on
their needs. The IEP Team-which includes the student, parents, a regular and
special education teacher, related service providers, the Case Manager and a
counselor-will make decisions about what is the proper placement for each
student in the least restrictive environment. The LRE decision is made only
after all of the goals, modifications and accommodations have been developed
in the Individual Education Program (IEP). The LRE decision is based on the
student’s unique needs and not on the student’s disabilities. Mr. Inga's
mission is to create a positive learning environment that both challenges
students and motivates them to become productive citizens and life-long
learners.
