Homework

The second grade homework schedule for this year will be as follows:

Monday:
•	Your child will bring home a paper book that he/she is to practice
reading to two different people. Each person that listens to the child read
should sign the back of the book after the reading has been completed.
•	A spelling list for the week will come home today. Also, a spelling
Tic-Tac-Toe worksheet will be sent home. Your child is to complete the
activities on the Tic-Tac-Toe sheet throughout the week using the assigned
spelling words and bring the completed work back on Friday morning stapled to
the Tic-Tac-Toe sheet.

Tuesday:
•	A math computation worksheet will be brought home for practicing math
facts or to reinforce the skill that has been taught in class.
•	Continue working on spelling activities

Wednesday:
• A souvenir paper will be brought home that is to be filled out by an
adult. Your child will retell the reading story we have been studying and
discussing all week and the adult’s job is to write down the information the
child is telling them. A souvenir bit will also be brought home that should
be placed in the souvenir bit bag your child is keeping in a safe place.

Thursday:
•	Your child will bring home a paper book that he/she should practice
reading to two different people. Each person that the child reads to should
sign the back of the book when the reading is completed.
Make sure the spelling activities are ready to come back to school on
Friday morning.

Friday:
•	No assigned homework. Please take time to go through your child’s
folder that he/she has brought home looking at the work they have
accomplished throughout the week. Please discuss the work with them. Also,
important notes for you to read are in this folder.
