The students should have homework daily. Reading logs are sent home on the first day of every month and are then due the first day of the following month. A minimum of 400 minutes is required each month. Students should be filling in the log themselves, and parents should sign off on the log at the end of the month. Your child should keep his/her reading log in the clear, back pocket of his/her take-home folder. If your child completes his/her reading log for the month, he/she will autoatically receive a Book-it slip for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. I cannot stress enough the importance of practicing multiplication facts each night with your child. Your child should be bringing home flash cards based on which facts he/she is studying at school. Mastery of multiplication facts will greatly facilitate your child's success with other math concepts throughout the year. Students may also receive additional assignments as well. Please look over and sign your child's assignment planner nightly for all homework assignments, announcements, due dates, etc. If your child has a missing or late assignment, he/she will miss recess for that day. Also, a neon-colored sticker will be stuck in his/her assignment planner for that day.
