Dear Kindergarten Families, 2009/2010
Hello and welcome to the 2009-2010 school year at Waters Elementary. My name is Mrs. Ramos and I am your child’s teacher. I am excited to be part of your child’s education. I am sure we’ll have a year full of fun and learning.
Please take a few minutes to review the following information to help the year go smoothly.
-The children enter at the north door Wilson (playground) at 8:55 in order for instruction to begin at 9:00, please be sure your child arrives on time so that they do not miss any important instruction.
-Kindergarteners will exit the same north door (playground) at 2:45 Please insure your child is picked up on time.
-Please do not drop your child off at the door unless you see me standing there. No child should be in line without an adult present.
-During dismissal I will be calling the children one at a time. I ask your patience at this time so that I make sure each child is released to the correct adult.
-Breakfast is served from 8:30 – 8:55am and we eat lunch at 11:30 am
-Room 208 will have gym on Tuesday. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately, including gym shoes.
- If your child is absent, it is your responsibility to notify the school that morning (534-5090). Please send a note the next day, if they are absent 3 days or more they must return with a doctor’s note.
-On the first day you will receive a lunch application, please fill out this form as soon as possible.. Even if your child will bring lunch from home the completion of this application is important to the school. In a few weeks you will be notified as to how much your child will need to pay for lunch.
-Please notify the school as to any changes in your home address, phone number or emergency contact information. It is important for us to have correct information in case we need to contact you for any reason.
-I will provide each child with a blue folder to be used as their take- home folder. All homework, parent notes, and other information will be sent home in this folder. I am counting on you to check it each day and return all necessary papers.
-You should also be reading at least one book to your child every night- this is considered part of their homework.
-A newsletter will be sent home weekly describing our classroom themes and goals. The newsletter will also notify you of any upcoming schedule changes or important dates for the month.

Hola y bienvenidos al año escolar 2009-2010, de la escuela Waters. Mi nombre es Mrs. Ramos y seré la maestra de su hijo/a. Estoy muy contenta poder ser parte de le educación de su hijo/a. Tendremos un año escolar de diversión y aprendizaje.
Por favor tome un tiempo para revisar la información que nos ayudara tener un año escolar productivo.
-Los estudiantes entraran por la puerta del norte en la avenida Wilson a las 8:55 para poder empezar la instrucción a las 9:00, por favor asegúrese que su hijo/a llegue a tiempo para que no se pierda instrucciones importantes.
-Ssaldrán por la misma puerta (Wilson), a las 2:40. Por favor asegúrese que un adulto este presente para recoger a su hijo/a.
-Por favor no deje a su hijo/a solo en la puerta hasta que me vea a mi presente. No debe estar ningún estudiante sin un adulto presente.
-Durante la salida llamare a cada estudiante individualmente. Le pido que sea paciente durante este tiempo para yo poder asegurarme que cada estudiante se vaya con la familia apropiada.
-El desayuno es servido de 8:30 – 8:55am y el almuerzo es a las 11:30 am
-Nuestra clase tendrá gimnasio cada martes. Por favor asegúrese que mande a su hijo/a vestido/a apropiadamente, incluyendo los zapatos tenis.
-Si su hijo/a estará ausente, es su responsabilidad de notificar la escuela el mismo día por la mañana. (534-5090). Por favor mande una nota al siguiente día explicando la falta, si falta 3 días o mas necesitara una nota del doctor.
-El primer día escolar recibirá una aplicación para el almuerzo, favor de llenarla y entregarla lo más pronto posible. Aunque tenga pensado mandar almuerzo diario, le entrega de la aplicación es muy importante para la escuela. En algunas semanas le avisaran si tiene que pagar para la comida.
-Por favor avísenos si hay algunos cambios en domicilio, teléfono o información de emergencias. Es muy importante que tengamos la información correcta.
-Yo les daré a cada estudiante una carpeta azul para usar diario de casa a escuela. Toda tarea, notas, información se mandara en esta carpeta. Cuento en usted para revisarla cada día y regresar papeles importantes.
-Debe de leer siquiera un libro diario a su hijo/a. esto es parte de su tarea.
-Un boletín de noticias será enviada cada mes informándole sobre actividades y metas. El boletín también le avisara sobre cambios o fechas importantes.
