The best gift a parent can give their child is the love of books
and the benefit of reading together.  Children who gain reading
experience at home, have a head start on their success in school.

Owning your own books is something special!  I hope that you will
encourage your child to order books throughout the year.  One of
the best ways to encourage reading is to allow children to select 
the books they want to read.

I will be sending home a new book order from Lucky Book Club at
the beginning of each month.  You'll find a selection of inexpensive, 
award-winning books that cover a variety of reading levels and 
interests.  I like this book order the best because it's especially 
designed for 2nd and 3rd graders.

If you will be ordering books for your child, please send a check or 
cash to school.  Checks should be payable to SCHOLASTIC BOOKS.  
Place in an envelope with your child's name, Mrs. Dravo, and BOOK 
ORDER on the front.
